Background
In 1999, Adam Cardinal Maida approved the planning of a new parish to begin forming in Davisburg. The parish was recommended as part of a Vicariate of the Lakes Master Plan proposed by the Vicariate Planning Committee chaired by the Vicar, Msgr. Robert Humitz of St. Daniel.
In September of 2001 the Archdiocese completed the purchase of 130 acres of land on the south side of Davisburg Road, just west of Ormond Road.
On July 1, 2007 Divine Mercy Parish was created and shortly thereafter, a Building Committee was setup to oversee the process and planning of developing the land and constructing the buildings that will become the physical home of Divine Mercy Parish.
Master Planning
The first part of the project was to conduct a Master Planning analysis. The results are posted here.
